Ruby Competitions Ltd ("the Promoter") operates paid-to-enter and free-entry prize draws in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and applicable Northern Ireland law. Full competition details are available at www.rubycompetitions.co.uk. The Promoter may operate multiple competitions simultaneously, each with its own stated prize, entry limits, and closing date.

1. Entry

1.1Entry to a competition may require answering a question correctly (where applicable).
1.2Entry may be made either by purchasing entries through the website or by using the free postal entry route detailed in Section 9.
1.3No purchase is necessary to enter or win any competition.

2. Payment

2.1Paid entries must be purchased in Pounds Sterling (GBP) via the payment methods available on the website.
2.2Paid entry is optional. A free postal entry route is available and provides a genuine alternative method of entry.
2.3Once accepted, free postal entries are treated no less favourably than paid entries.

3. The Entrant

3.1Entrants are individuals who enter a competition via paid entry, free postal entry, or any other method expressly permitted by the Promoter.
3.2Entrants are responsible for ensuring that all contact details provided are accurate and up to date.
3.3The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failure to contact a winner due to incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the entrant.

4. Winner Selection and Announcement

4.1A winner will be selected at random either:
  • when the maximum number of entries is reached; or
  • when the advertised closing date and time has passed, whichever occurs first.
4.2Winners may be required to provide proof of identity and eligibility before a prize is awarded.
4.3Prizes must be claimed by the named winner only.
4.4Winners may be invited (but are not obliged) to provide a photograph, testimonial, or other promotional material in accordance with Section 16.

5. Competition Duration

5.1Each competition will close either when the maximum number of entries is reached or at the advertised end date and time.
5.2The Promoter may award prizes even if the maximum number of entries is not reached.
5.3The draw date and time will be communicated via the website and/or social media.

6. General Conditions

6.1By entering, entrants confirm they have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
6.2Entrants must provide all required contact information as requested.
6.3Entrants confirm they have legal capacity to enter.
6.4Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
6.5The Promoter reserves the right to refuse or disqualify entries that breach these Terms.
6.6Entry pricing and availability are displayed on each competition page.
6.7The Promoter may suspend or restrict accounts where there is reasonable suspicion of abuse, fraud, or rule breaches.

7. Eligibility

7.1Competitions are open to residents of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over, excluding:
  • employees or contractors of the Promoter;
  • immediate family members of such individuals;
  • anyone professionally connected with the operation of the competitions.
7.2Proof of age and eligibility may be required.
7.3Automatically generated, incomplete, or illegible entries will not be accepted.
7.4Conduct contrary to the spirit or fairness of the competition may result in disqualification.
7.5No refunds will be issued where an entrant is later found to be ineligible or disqualified for rule breaches.
7.6The Promoter reserves the right to close the account and cease business with any individual for any reason, at any time.

8. Entry Completion

8.1Entry is complete once payment is successfully processed or a valid postal entry is received.
8.2Competitions will not be extended except where cancelled under Section 12.
8.3Entries are final and non-refundable except where required by these Terms.
8.4Winners are selected via a live draw using a random selection method.
8.5Entry lists and draw information may be published on the website or social media.

9. Free Entry (Postal Entry)

9.1A free entry route is available for all competitions. No purchase is required to enter or win.
9.2To enter by post, entrants must send a postcard containing:
  • full name;
  • registered email address;
  • contact telephone number;
  • the competition name;
  • the correct answer (where applicable);
  • to the address stated on the website.
9.3A maximum of one (1) free postal entry per postcard is permitted.
9.4Each valid postal entry will be allocated entries equivalent in value to the prevailing Royal Mail Second Class postage rate at the time of receipt.
9.5Multiple entries for the same competition submitted on a single postcard will be treated as one (1) entry only.
9.6Separate postal entries may be submitted for different competitions.
9.7All valid postal entries are entered into the same draw as paid entries and are treated no less favourably, with equal chances of winning per allocated entry.
9.8Old-style (non-barcoded) stamps will not be accepted.
9.9Postal entries must be received before the advertised closing date.
9.10The Promoter is not responsible for lost, delayed, damaged, or illegible postal entries.
9.11Where no online account exists, one may be created using postal entry details to ensure fair processing.

10. Prizes

10.1Prizes are as stated on each competition page.
10.2No alternatives or substitutions will be offered unless stated.
10.3Proof of identity may be required before prize delivery.
10.4Holiday prizes will include a minimum of 3-star accommodation unless otherwise stated.
10.5Ownership of prizes remains with the Promoter until successful delivery.
10.6Cash prizes and cash wins may be withdrawn by the winner, subject to any applicable verification checks and provided the available withdrawal balance meets or exceeds the minimum withdrawal limit of £10.
10.7Site credit, bonus credit, promotional credit, or any other non-cash credit awarded to an account is not withdrawable as cash and must be used for eligible entries or purchases on the website only.

11. Photo ID and Age Verification New

Important Notice — Age Verification Requirement

In order to comply with our age verification obligations and applicable competition legislation, all winners are required to provide valid photographic ID before any prize is released or paid out. This requirement applies without exception.

11.1All competitions operated by Ruby Competitions Ltd are restricted to individuals aged 18 years or over.
11.2As part of our age verification process, all winners will be required to provide valid photographic identification ('Photo ID') before any prize is awarded, released, or paid out.
11.3Acceptable forms of Photo ID include:
  • a valid UK or Irish passport;
  • a valid UK, Irish, or EU driving licence (photocard);
  • a valid national identity card (where issued);
  • a valid PASS-accredited proof of age card (e.g. Validate UK, CitizenCard);
  • any other government-issued photographic identification accepted at the Promoter's discretion.
11.4The Photo ID provided must clearly show the winner's:
  • full legal name;
  • date of birth confirming they are 18 years of age or over;
  • a recognisable photograph.
11.5Photo ID must be provided within 7 days of the winner being notified. Failure to provide acceptable Photo ID within this period may result in the prize being forfeited and an alternative winner being selected.
11.6The Promoter reserves the right to request additional supporting documentation where the validity or authenticity of the Photo ID provided is unclear.
11.7Photo ID documents will be handled in accordance with the Promoter's Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. Documents will not be retained beyond the period necessary to verify eligibility.
11.8No prize will be released to any winner who fails or refuses to provide satisfactory Photo ID. No refund of entry fees will be made in such circumstances.

12. Cancellation

12.1Competitions may proceed even if the maximum entry number is not reached.
12.2If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, an alternative winner may be selected.
12.3If a competition is cancelled, paid entries will be refunded.
12.4The Promoter may cancel or amend a competition in the event of an administrative or technical error.

13. Liability

13.1The Promoter is not liable for:
  • technical failures;
  • lost or delayed entries;
  • circumstances beyond its reasonable control;
  • minor inaccuracies in prize descriptions.
13.2Winners are responsible for any tax obligations arising from prize acceptance.

14. Anti-Money Laundering

14.1The Promoter complies with applicable Northern Ireland gambling and lottery legislation, including the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985.
14.2Anonymous or underage accounts are prohibited.
14.3Activity may be monitored and reported where required by law.
14.4Winnings and refunds will be returned via the original payment method where possible.
14.5Accounts may be terminated for suspected fraud or misuse.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.
15.2The Promoter may amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be published on the website.
15.3Entry does not create any partnership or agency relationship.
15.4Entries are void in cases of fraud, hacking, or breach of these Terms.

16. Publicity & Image Use

16.1Winners may be asked to provide a name, image, or testimonial for promotional use.
16.2Any materials voluntarily provided may be used across the Promoter's media channels.
16.3Consent may be withdrawn at any time by contacting the Promoter in writing.

17. Complaints New

17.1Ruby Competitions Ltd takes all customer complaints seriously and is committed to resolving them promptly and fairly.
17.2If you have a complaint regarding any aspect of our competitions, prize fulfilment, entry process, or customer service, you may contact us using any of the following methods:

17.3We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 2 working days and provide a full written response within 10 working days of acknowledgement.
17.4If we require additional time to investigate, we will contact you to explain and provide a revised timescale. The maximum total resolution period will not exceed 28 calendar days.
17.5If you remain dissatisfied following our final response, you may refer your complaint to one of the following independent bodies:
